The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall, presented by Galpin Subaru, series will head into April with an exciting lineup of Celtic Dance, free live performances, a British car show, a Wild West block party and more.

From 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 7, JAM Sessions hosted by the Ford Theatre Foundation, will bring dancing and original live performances to the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main Street. JAM Sessions will feature the CnaG Gaelic League of LA’s dance division Céilí Rua (Wild Gathering), as they lead residents through the jig-step movements of traditional Irish social dances. At 8:00 p.m. residents can practice their moves during a live concert from Paddy’s Pig.

Meanwhile on April 7 at The REP, located at 24266 Main Street, ten performers will take the stage for ten minutes each and share their live theatre pieces, dances, monologues or music at 10 by 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Performers include The New Mexican, Oscar Saggastume, Scott Marshall, Tal Genavia, Michael Kass, Jameson Scalia, Chris Mack, Andrew Solmssen, Aiden Park and Heather Lockie.

thursdaysapril2016aFrom 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 14, the Revved Up, presented by State Farm, car show will experience the Best of Britain with MGs, Caterhams, Rolls Royce, Jaguars and AstonS Martins. Residents can enjoy a live band, food trucks and adult beverages provided by Persia Lounge. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for Revved Up can apply online.

Also on April 7, local songwriters will perform their original works at Note by Note in the Newhall Refinery, located at 24258 Main Street. Performers interested in Note by Note can apply online.

The SENSES block party will rock Main Street from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on April 21 with the Wild Wild West! Residents can rediscover the spirit of the Old West with music from Old Salt Union, mechanical bull rides, line dancing, trick roping, food trucks, street performances and the unveiling of the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival Walk of Western Stars.

SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series will also lead into the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival with a special Wednesday, April 20 performance with Syd Masters & The Swing Riders beginning at 8:00 p.m. at The REP. Tickets are available here.

Thursdays@Newhall’s April events conclude with the ARTree Speaker Series on April 28. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership and the City of Santa Clarita, will feature Irwin Jaeger, co-founder of Inner-City Arts. Jaeger will speak on building one of the country’s largest and most successful art organizations which serves more than 100,000 children in Los Angeles.
