[KHTS] A Placerita Junior High School student’s trial date has been set about nine months after he was arrested for allegedly making threats on Facebook, according to District Attorney’s office officials.
The 13-year-old student will be in court on January 11, said Greg Risling from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The student, who is denying all allegations, is facing criminal threats charges, said Risling.
The student, who can not be named because they are a juvenile, allegedly threatened to bring guns to the school in a post on a social media site, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.
He was detained and taken into custody on March 20, 2015.
“It didn’t appear that there had been any attempt to carry out any type of assault,” said Sgt. Dan Stanley of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Deputies believe the student was acting alone, and no one was hurt in the incident.
Officials with the Hart District, which oversees Placerita Junior High School, said every incident of this nature is taken “very seriously.”
The student appeared in Sylmar Juvenile Court on Thursday, Sept. 24 and was ordered to return on Oct. 27, 2015 for a trial setting, said Greg Risling, public information officer for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
