Lake Elsinore took the first lead with a pair of runs in the opening inning on Austin Allen’s two-run homer, his 15th of the season.
The game turned in the fourth inning on a crucial catcher’s interference call. The JetHawks, still down 2-0, had runners on first and second with two out. With Hamlet Marte at the plate, Allen interfered with the swing and Marte was awarded first base. Rogers was next up and came through with a bases-clearing double. After an infield single by Mylz Jones, Ferguson’s triple and Burcham’s homer followed.
Lancaster followed the seven-run fourth inning with a six-run fifth. Five of the runs came on the long balls by Ramos and Ferguson. The other scored on an RBI double by Sam Hilliard.
Ty Culbreth (3-1) tossed six strong innings and struck out five. The left-hander allowed three runs on five hits. Logan Cozart, Carlos Polanco, and Max Schuh each threw a scoreless inning out of the bullpen to close out the game for the JetHawks.
Here’s the box score.
The four-game series concluded on Sunday night at The Hangar.
