Hart’s Trent Irwin and Connor Wingenroth each returned punts for touchdowns in their team’s 51-3 win over La Palma Kennedy.
Irwin also caught an 81-yard touchdown pass and Wingenroth scored on a 25-yard touchdown run in Hart’s first win of the season.
The Canyon football team heads to Knight in Lancaster with an undefeated 2-0 record tonight. The Cowboys are coming off a 56-48 win over Clovis West.
Knight lost its season opener 30-0 to Oak Hills last week. Canyon beat Knight, 56-7, last season.
The Valencia football team is looking to rebound in West Hills against Chaminade. The Vikings lost their season opener to Palmdale last week.
Chaminade has won its first two games of the season and is ranked third in the Southern Section Western Division.
The Saugus football team travels to play Buena in Ventura.
Golden Valley takes on Highland at Canyon High School.
West Ranch plays Eastside at Valencia High and will be broadcast tonight on AM-1220 KHTS. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Trinity plays Immanuel Christian at West Ranch today at 4 p.m.
In high school volleyball, the Valencia girls won their first match of the season in four games against Dos Pueblos.
The Hart girls volleyball team swept Westlake in three games to win their first match of the season.
In high school tennis, the Saugus girls handled Santa Paula, 11-7, to win their third match of the season.
In cross country, Golden Valley, Hart and Valencia are entered in the Seaside Invitational today in Ventura.
In baseball, the Dodgers are in San Francisco to start a weekend series with the Giants tonight.
The Dodgers turn to Josh Beckett in the first game of the series. The Giants will counter with Tim Lincecum.
The Giants have a 4 ½ game lead over the Dodgers in the National League West standings.
