Community members looking for new books to read this year can find great deals at the Santa Clarita Public Library Bag Sale, happening Monday, Jan. 14, through Monday, Jan. 21, at all three branches including the Canyon Country, Newhall and Valencia Library.
Sponsored by the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library, residents are invited to fill a bag with books ranging from adult fiction to children’s stories for just $6.00.
“Thanks to an overflow of donations from our generous community, the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is able to offer great deals on a wide selection of books,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “We hope this fundraising sale will make it easier for residents to expand their knowledge and culture through reading while enjoying a great place to explore new literature.”
In addition to the Bag Sale, each of the libraries will also be accepting donations of previously owned books.
The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is an active group of Santa Clarita residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library. All of the proceeds from fundraising events and programs sponsored by the Friends of the Library go towards providing new materials and programming at the Santa Clarita Public Library.
Membership to the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library is open to the community. For more information about how to join, please contact friends@santaclaritalibrary.com or visit www.santaclaritalibrary.com.
