Toddrick Spalding

Musicians and community members interested in building a career in the music industry are invite to join the City of Santa Clarita and musician Toddrick Spalding for a free Professional Artists Workshop on Wednesday, March 20, at 7 p.m. in the Century Room at City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd.

Spalding, who is the lead Music Supervisor at Trailer Park and founder of High Bias, will provide aspiring musicians and songwriters with the business tools needed to advance their career and maintain a thriving professional practice.

“These workshops are intended to aid aspiring artists in advancing their skills and knowledge in the field they wish to pursue,” said Mayor Bob Kellar.   “With more than nine years of experience, Spalding will provide insight on the tools, talent, knowledge and skills needed to compete in the music industry.”

As part of the City’s ongoing “New Heights” professional artist workshop series, the March 20th workshop will provide musicians with the skills needed to be successful in the industry, including the reward and challenges of music supervision, and how music makes its way into film and television.

For the last nine years, Spalding has built a career in music supervision for feature film marketing, indie features, traditional advertising and television.  During his career, he helped launch some of Hollywood’s biggest films including Django: Unchained, Lincoln, Cars 2, Tangled, Inception and Toy Story 3.

For more information about the New Heights series or to RSVP for this workshop, contact City Arts and Events Supervisor Mike Fleming at (661) 250-3777 or by email at mfleming@santa-clarita.com.
