Alyssa Rodriguez drove in the go-ahead run for Saugus in the sixth inning. Her double scored Kaela Morrow.

Rachel Shotzbarger hit a two-run home run for the Centurions in the first inning.

Saugus shut out Vista Murrieta, 1-0, in the consolation semifinals. Mariah Lopez tossed a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Lindsay Clare drove in the lone run of the game with a single in the fifth inning.

The West Ranch softball team beat Corona, 2-1, but lost to Bishop Amat, 6-4, in the Best of the West tournament.

Jessica Harper hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning against Corona.

Charlotte Romero hit a home run and drove in two runs against Bishop Amat.

In high school baseball, Valencia beat West Ranch, 8-5, scoring four runs in the sixth inning.

Devon Davis delivered the big blow for Valencia with a two-run home run in the sixth.

The Saugus baseball team beat Golden Valley 15-1. Joey Mendez hit a three-run home run and drove in four runs for the Centurions.

Valencia and Saugus are 2-0 in the Foothill League.

The Hart baseball team beat Canyon, 5-4, scoring three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead.

Hart and Canyon are 1-1 after two Foothill League games. West Ranch, the reigning Foothill League champion, and Golden Valley are 0-2.

In high school tennis, Valencia’s Chris Pope and Cameron Braun won the doubles championship at the Spring Smash at Valencia High School.

Pope and Braun defeated Arroyo Grande’s Derek Lakowske and Cole Laughton, 8-1, in the championship match.

Valencia’s Joey Fernicola defeated teammate Chad LeDuff, 8-5, in the third-place match of the singles tournament.

In the NBA, the Lakers beat the visiting Sacramento Kings, 113-102, and won their second game in a row. Kobe Bryant sat out the game with an ankle sprain and the flu.

The Lakers have won six of their past seven games, but more importantly stayed a game ahead of the Utah Jazz for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Clippers beat the injury-riddled New York Knicks, 93-80. Chris Paul scored 20 points and Blake Griffin had 12.

In spring training, the Dodgers beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 11-1.

In the NHL, the Kings are home for a game against the Phoenix Coyotes tonight. The Kings are coming off a 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

Listen to the game between the Kings and the Coyotes tonight on AM 1220, KHTS. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
