1875 - John F. Powell, an Irish immigrant, becomes Justice of the Peace [story]
John F. Powell

lasd012314aDeputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit, along with deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Crime Impact Team, conducted a multiple location parole-probation compliance operation early Wednesday morning. All of the locations were in the Neenach area of unincorporated Los Angeles County.

This operation is part of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station’s ongoing proactive efforts to ensure that convicted criminals living in the Santa Clarita Valley including the unincorporated areas are in compliance with the terms and conditions of their probation after release from jail.

During a check of a residence located in the 49600 block of 259th Street West, deputies contacted Ms. June Soper, a 55-year-old female currently on probation.  During a subsequent compliance check of the residence, numerous items of contraband were recovered including narcotics paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

During a check of another residence located in the 50200 block of 255th Street West, deputies contacted Jorge Jacobs, a 26-year-old male.  Mr. Jacobs was found to be in compliance with the terms of his probation; however he was arrested by deputies for an outstanding felony burglary warrant.

These types of operations and others just like it will continue throughout the year to ensure that convicted criminals remain in compliance. Criminals who choose to break the law and are caught will be arrested.

    Where is Neenach?

  2. Off of Ave D (SR138) around 160th St West.. Closer to Lancaster than SCV, but part of SCV Sheriff’s patrol/response area.

  3. Have ya’ ever been to Neenach? I can see why some would turn to drugs. :P

No it is not closer to Lancaster. It is 40 minutes from Castaic and 40 minutes from Lancaster. Equal distance. It is exactly 1 hour drive from Neenach to the Burbank airport. Santa Clarita sheriff patrols all the way up to 235 West.

That area can very easily become the next Santa Clarita. The only thing stopping it is Tejon and the City of Los Angeles. Tejon needs to poop or get off the pot with its promised land developments and the City of LA has to stop treating the place like a backyard for various utility projects.

Update from the ranch. Word is some old pipes were found. Nothing serious. June is back at home. This action happened Wednesday. The sheriff came to the town council meeting Thursday night and let it be known that he is doing “something great” for the community. That is what this raid was all about. Image.

The truth is the Santa Clarita sheriff does not want this job. It is way off on the periphery and it is a nuisance for them. They discourage people from reporting crime.

June’s place used to be a meth house. The neighbor’s trailer with bikes was stolen. There was a western. A local vigilante told the sheriff where the meth houses are. Two of the tweakers came to beat the vigilante up for ratting on them. Turns out the vigilante beat the daylights out of the tweakers. The sheriff comes from around the corner, sees a tweaker with blood all over. He is ticked off. He laid down the law. He doesn’t want to make an arrest and this does not look good. He made it plain and clear. DO NOT BOTHER HIM. He only makes an arrest when there is violence against a woman involved. Otherwise he does not want to hear it or see it.

The long and short of it is June stopped dealing meth because the local vigilantes were going to burn her house down. Neenach is the wild west 150 years ago.
