Starbucks1Santa Clarita Sheriff’s deputies are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who used a Starbuck’s gift card that had been stolen from a Canyon Country woman’s unlocked car.

Her vehicle was parked in the 27500 block of Trail Ridge Road of Canyon Country during the late night hours on Thursday, January 15.

The victim had registered the gift card online with Starbucks and received a text from Starbucks showing the gift card had been used locally.

Detectives on the case discovered the gift card was used the next day at the Starbucks located at 24802 Orchard Village Road in Santa Clarita the next day.

Detectives obtained three surveillance photos of a male using the stolen gift card to make a purchase and are now asking the public’s assistance in identifying this male.

Anyone with information about this incident, or knowing the identity of the male in the surveillance photographs; please contact Detective Rubalcava at 661-255-1121 or at AVRubalc@lasd.org.

Really people? In many parts of the wonderful US of A you don’t have to lock your doors for fear of being robbed. Parents teach their children to respect other people’s property, and taking without asking is STEALING. I guess those of you who think it’s ok to steal if someone doesnt “lock up”are teaching their children it’s ok. God help us!!

  36. What is wrong with you people? Stealing is WRONG. No matter door unlocked or whatever. You think it’s ok to just take anything you want? Morally empty!!!!

  38. How do they know it’s her card? I didn’t realize you could personalize a gift card? And how much was the drink!? Is it really worth it? How about if she dropped the card?
