In case you missed the premiere last weekend, this Saturday night at 10, SCVTV presents an encore telecast of our special Summer Meltdown preview on “House Blend,” hosted by yours truly.

The 12^th annual Summer Meltdown Austism Awareness Art & Music Festival, which benefits the Yes I Can program for students with and without disabilities at local middle and high schools, takes over the Santa Clarita Skate Park on Saturday, April 25.

Bret Lieberman, Yes I Can program director at Canyon High, and Summer Meltdown’s executive producer, joins me on the “House Blend” set to tell us all about the marathon all-ages pop culture mashup.

We find out how the Yes I Can students learn important real-life social skills and practical knowledge in the months it takes them to produce the festival each year.

Bret and I are going to play veejays, introducing fascinating videos about Summer Meltdown and the Yes I Can program, plus cool music clips by Dankrupt and Iya Terra, just two of the almost 40 bands on this year’s Summer Meltdown bill.

On Sunday night, Santa Clarita singer and “House Blend” star Sara Niemietz and her Babylon Social Club bandmates play their very last gig at the Café Cordiale in Sherman Oaks.

The Social Club’s four-year residency there is over, and whether the ace musicians find another venue remains to be seen. For reservations, call 818-789-1985.
