A tow truck driver was in the right place at the right time Friday when he came upon two motorists who tried unsuccessfully to be in the same place at the same time.
The Canyon Towing Service driver alerted authorities to the scene of a collision in front of Plum Canyon Elementary School in Saugus.
According to the CHP, two Chevys – a sedan and a Camaro – collided in the intersection of Plum Canyon Road and Golden Valley Road (a residential street with the same name as the major cross-valley road).
The collision took out a power pole that landed in lanes. Edison linemen were called to deal with the exposed live wires.
No information about injuries was immediately available. No parties were transported to a hospital by the L.A. County Fire Department.
