You gotta love the way the College of the Canyons men’s basketball team won against Santa Monica College.
Rafael Love hit a 3-pointer with 13 seconds left in the game to break a 77-77 tie. He then hit two free throws as COC beat Santa Monica, 82-77.
Love scored 27 points and had seven rebounds. Four players from COC scored in double figures. Ronald Harris had 14.
The College of the Canyons women snapped a five-game losing streak and beat Santa Monica, 80-75. The COC women were down by 18 points at halftime and rallied for the win.
Angelica Sahagun scored a career high 27 points for COC.
In football, three players from the Trinity Classical Academy were selected to the All-CIF 8-man Division II team.
James Brooks earned a spot on the offensive team. Dakota Prochnow and Patch Kulp earned spots on the defensive team.
It’s a light night of basketball for the high school teams in the Santa Clarita Valley. Only one team is playing, the Trinity boys. They travel to Providence Hall.
The Santa Clarita Christian girls soccer team is home for a game against Viewpoint. The Trinity girls soccer team plays on the road against Concordia.
In hockey, the Kings are home for a game against the Calgary Flames tonight at Staples Center.
The Kings are coming off a 3-2 shootout win over the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night. You can listen to the game between the Kings and the Flames tonight on AM-1220 KHTS. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
