Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

 

Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Zone 3 Stevenson Ranch:

(1) Robbery (Strong Arm), (1) Residential Burglary/(1) Attempt, (1) Commercial Burglary, (1) Vehicle Burglary, (6) Shoplift, (1) Grand Theft and (1) Petty Theft.

A strong arm robbery occurred near the 27500 block of The Old Road. A male suspect approached the victim and demanded his cell phone after threatening him. When the victim complied, the suspect fled in a white older model Chrysler 300.

A residential burglary was reported near the 25100 block of Steinbeck Avenue. An unknown person entered the victim’s bedroom and took jewelry from a dresser drawer. There were no signs of forced entry into the bedroom. The crime occurred between 12/19/13 and 12/29/14.

An attempt residential burglary occurred near the 25300 block of The Old Road. An unknown suspect took the rear patio slider door off its track. There was no evidence the suspect made entry and it was not determined if anything was missing at the time of the report.

A commercial burglary occurred near the 24200 block of The Old Road. An unknown suspect cut the lock off a chain link fence surrounding the location. The suspect(s) entered an office building through a side window and took firearms and several tools. Several storage containers/boxes on the property were also broken into and several tools were taken.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 25200 block of Steinbeck Avenue. An unknown suspect shattered the front passenger window of the victim’s vehicle and took a purse. The purse was left on the front passenger seat.

A shoplift/burglary occurred near the 25600 block of The Old Road. A female suspect was detained by loss prevention personnel when she walked out of the location, failing to pay for several items. The suspect was subsequently arrested by responding deputies.

There were five incidents of shoplifting near the 25400 block of The Old Road resulting in two arrests. All incidents are currently under investigation by Santa Clarita Station Detectives.

A grand theft occurred near the intersection of Pico Canyon Road and Highway 126. Two male suspects cut the lock off a security gate and entered the field driving a Uhaul truck. The suspects began loading several pieces of aluminum irrigation pipe into the truck until confronted by security personnel. The security officer contacted the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station and the suspects were arrested by responding deputies. Upon further investigation, one suspect was additionally charged with sales of marijuana.
