Week of 1/27/2014 through 2/2/2014

A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.

Sometime between Saturday the 25th, and Monday the 27th, a classroom was burglarized at Placerita Junior High School, 25015 Newhall Avenue.  Two laptops and a projector were stolen.

On Monday the 27th, 2 adults were arrested at the “Dollar Tree”, 23780 Newhall Avenue for shoplifting.

On Thursday the 30th, between 12:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 25000 block of Green Mill Avenue.  An unknown suspect broke a sliding glass door to enter the residence and stole a silverware set.

On Wednesday the 29th, at 9:45 p.m., a theft occurred at the “Shell” gas station, 23502 Newhall Avenue.  The suspect took two 18 packs of beer and fled West toward Valle Del Oro.

On Thursday the 30th, at 9:30 a.m., an adult female was arrested for vehicle burglary in the 23500 block Lyon’s Avenue.

On Friday the 31st, at 11:30 p.m., a male was arrested for felony battery on his roommate in the 24900 block of Walnut Street.

On Thursday the 30th, we conducted saturation patrol on bicycles, T3 vehicles, and patrol vehicles from the Sheriff’s Station, to Newhall.  We contacted numerous citizens in the parks, paseos, parking lots, and various streets.  We also arrested two adults and cited a third.  We will be conducting these types of operations throughout the year in an effort to identify any problem areas and help keep the recreation areas and pathways safe.

Remember to lock your doors and windows, don’t leave valuables in plain view, be aware of your surroundings, and report suspicious behavior.
