fataltc[KHTS]- Emergency officials responded to a fatal hit-and-run in Santa Clarita Monday night.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials responded to reports of an auto versus pedestrian collision on Orchard Village Road near Mill Valley Road in Valencia, said Lt. Tom Bryski with the SCV Sheriff’s Station.

The report came in around 11:50 p.m. Monday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials.

The victim is a female in her 60s who was struck by an unknown vehicle in the southbound lanes on Orchard Village Road, Bryski said.

  1. Too many people getting hit by cars.

  2. I live off mill Valley. . Was she not using the cross walk??

  3. Chaz Bish says:

There are no sidewalks in that area and pedestrians often walk in the bike line which is damn sad since we have paseos that will get you anywhere in the area safely

  4. Seriously? Questioning if this woman was in a crosswalk should not be the issue! Her loved ones are now heartbroken. Praying for this family.

  5. How dear you question my feelings Kathleen Mendola Lewis about the situation, because I asked if she was in the cross walk! I was asking cause there is a bend in the road and it’s a dark area. And yes I feel you need to utilize cross walks that’s what they are there for!.. again this has nothing to do about how I feel about the situation!

  6. Pedestrian are always right, but when you cause your own dead, n t hit Run his more dead than before ” Hit n Run! ” only a sick unconscious person well do that” I hope they found this Zombie “

  7. Unfortunately too many people are getting killed in this valley while not using the crosswalks. If it makes people think twice next time they think about Jaywalking, why not bring it up. I didn’t take it as if she was asking in a judgmental way. I understood it as a clarifying question. Let’s be kind to another before jumping to anger?

  8. Chris says:

Crosswalk or not who’s to say it was her fault? What about the driver that took off? Possible drunk? If it was just an accident why run. Im betting the driver was drunk. Just my two cents.

  9. Ben Green says:

I’ve noticed that a lot of people just dart across the street and lots of time their is a phone in front of their face.

We also have an abundance of new crappy drivers that won’t even hit the brakes for a dog

  10. Gina says:

The speed limit in that area is outrageous compared to other cities. So sorry to hear this. My daughter lives near there and no one ever slows down!

  11. Ginny Ulrich says:

The speed limits are outrageous in that city compared to other towns. Very sad news. I travel that way often and people drive like they are at a racetrack.

  12. So sad, another hit and run!

  13. Prayers to her family & friends ?! And to the Hit and Runner, how can you live with yourself???

  14. So sad. This happened on Old Orchard between Wiley and McBean.

  15. Rule #1 in driving.
The pedestrian always had the right of way. Her being in the crosswalk is irrelevant. The fact that the driver hit and ran is the real issue.

  16. Keeping her family in my prayers. To many scv lives lost from vehicle to pedestrian incidents in the past 10 days. Praying for them.

  17. This is a everyday thing someone dies in Santa Clarita/ canyon country everyday what’s going on

  18. It’s terrible prayers to the family

  19. Irma Zepeda Carlos Iraheta WTH is up with all these deaths in SCV?! O_o

  20. Ophie Galvez….please be careful on your walks.

  21. Kelly Parco says:

My prayers to the victims loved ones. And to the driver, I hope your guilt eats you and haunts you until you do the right thing.

  22. Mark says:

It doesn’t matter who has the right of way. You have to be “Street Smart.”

  23. Tessa Lucero says:

@Chaz Bish, speaking as a pedestrian who’s often in the area I feel safer in the bike lane than on the paseos after dark. The paseos aren’t that well lit or heavily frequented and it’s not surprising that a woman in her 60s might not feel comfortable walking there alone. I’m sorry this lady lost her life and I’m doubly sorry that some driver left her there to die in the street rather than stopping and calling for help.

  24. faggots says:

guess the driver got away with it
