The UCLA baseball team has announced that it will host the 2016 Alumni Game on Saturday, January 30 at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The day’s events will feature two games – one “Old-Timers” game featuring alumni from 1990 or earlier beginning at 10:30 a.m., and the Alumni Game featuring alumni from 1991 or later versus the 2016 Bruins at 12:05 p.m.

Former players who would like to play in either of this year’s Alumni Games should contact UCLA Director of Baseball Operations Seth Moir (via e-mail at smoir@athletics.ucla.edu or by phone at 310-794-8210). Alumni who RSVP should send their name, baseball jersey number and t-shirt size to Moir by January 20.

As has been in previous years, this year’s Alumni Game will be free of charge to the public. The 2016 UCLA baseball team will take on the Alumni Team in an exhibition contest beginning at 12:05 p.m. Baseball alumni from 1991 through 2015 are encouraged to compete for the Alumni Team. The “Old-Timers” Game will take place prior to the Alumni Game at 10:30 a.m. Alumni who played from the 1930’s through 1990 are encouraged to take part in the “Old-Timer’s” Game.

The day’s events will begin with batting practice at 9:30 a.m., followed by the two Alumni Games. Following the second game, food and refreshments will be available to former players, former coaches and their families in the Gifford Hitting facility. In addition, season ticket holders who purchase their ticket packages prior to the Alumni Games are invited to attend the postgame luncheon as well.

ABOUT THE REGISTRATION PROCESS – Admission is free to the Alumni Game. The UCLA baseball program does not need a list of alumni family members attending. Stadium gates will open by 9:00 a.m. and participants should report to the third-base bullpen for check-in. Participants will have the opportunity to take batting practice at 9:30 a.m. in order of their arrival.
