CalArts Graphic Design Coursera classes are the crème de la crème of online learning opportunities, according to Creative Bloq, an online magazine tracking creative trends and developments in design.

Coming in at the top of “The 10 best free graphic design courses online” are three CalArts classes: Ideas from the History of Graphic Design, taught by faculty members Louise Sandhaus and Lorraine Wild, Fundamentals of Graphic Design with Michael Worthington, and Arthur Kiley’s Introduction to Typography.

The classes are geared toward beginners and are accompanied by video lectures, homework assignments, creative prompts and additional materials.

While the rankings are unsurprising to those familiar with the caliber of CalArts Program in Graphic Design, it’s an achievement that resonates with the school’s progressive philosophy.

Many of CalArts faculty in various programs are creating massive open online courses on online platforms such as Coursera and Kadenze, which are fully accessible and at no cost to the public.
