In August 2018, detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau began investigating an allegation of child molestation involving a high school basketball coach and a child he had coached at a high school in Santa Clarita.

Over the course of the investigation, seven additional victims were identified and interviewed by detectives. All of the victims were coached by the suspect during his employment as a basketball coach at several high schools in the Santa Clarita Valley. The incidents occurred over a period of several years, dating back to 2008.

As a result of the investigation, the suspect, Jeremy Haggerty, was arrested during the morning hours of Thursday. He is currently in the custody of the Sheriff’s Department with a bail set at $1.2 million. His arraignment date is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 17.

  8. I just to say when my kids started school , you know how they love and trust a teacher, I warn them about teachers, janitors, not to ever be alone with any adult for any reason. More than one school?

  9. Red Justin Red Justin says:

Sooooo we have to worry about our children getting raped, molested and murdered? Maybe we should ban pedophiles from school…. ohh wait…

Maybe our focus should really be into our school system, where our children will spend 20 percent of their lives. But instead we drop them off and never think about it.

    Just saying…
