Zone 5-Valencia had eighteen Part-1 Crimes reported during the past week. The criminal incidents included a commercial burglary, vehicle burglary, a theft from an unlocked vehicle and numerous petty theft type crimes.
A commercial burglary occurred on the 27800 block of Smyth Drive during the early morning hours. Entry/exit was made by smashing the office window with an unknown object. Items stolen were a large quantity of prescription medication. No suspect(s) have been identified at this time.
A vehicle burglary occurred on the 24500 block of Town Center Drive between the hours of 1:00 pm-4:30pm. The victim’s vehicle was parked in a underground parking structure. Entry/exit was made by smashing the passenger’s side window with an unknown object. Items stolen were a brief case containing a lap top commuter and I Pad. The items were left on the passenger seat visible from the outside of the vehicle.
A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred at a local gym parking lot between the hours of 12:45 pm – 2:30 am. The items stolen were the victim’s purse containing her wallet, credit cards and checkbook. The purse was left underneath the passenger’s front seat. No suspect(s) have been identified in either incident and the investigations are ongoing.
There were numerous petty thefts that occurred during various hours of the day involving victim’s leaving personal items behind or unsecured. One victim left their purse unsecured and walked away from a shopping cart. A second victim left their cell phone on table inside an establishment and a third victim left their Samsung tablet on the ground while on the paseo.
Do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended. Do not leave items visible in your vehicles. Secure items in locked trunks or take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle. If possible, park in well-lit areas. If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighborhood, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.
There were eight arrests made by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area last week. Arrests included receiving stolen property, driving under the influence of alcohol, and shoplifting.
