Here are some safety tips to keep in mind year round:
– Curfew hours are 10:00 pm to 6:00 am for juveniles when not with a parent or a court appointed guardian. It is a misdemeanor in the County area to violate the curfew law. When a juvenile is issued a citation for the violation, they are required to appear in court with a parent. Please confirm the whereabouts of your child through good communication.
– If you see vehicles double parked in the street or persons that appear to be working on vehicles, please call the Sheriff’s Station, and if possible provide a vehicle description and a license plate number.
– When you park the car, remove cellular phones, purses, wallets and other valuable possessions. Do not leave these items in plain view. Lock all valuables in your trunk or take them with you.
– If you see any suspicious persons (including curfew violators) in your neighborhood, or place of business, please do not hesitate to the call the Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.
– Also, please remember to store your local law enforcement’s station phone number in to your cellular phone.
I encourage you to pass these safety tips along to family and friends, and as always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
