Last week, the following Part 1 crimes occurred in Canyon Country East:

(1) Robbery, (2) Assaults, (1) Commercial Burglary, (6) Theft, (1) Vehicle Burglary.

During the past week a robbery was reported near the 27600 block of Nugget Drive. In this incident a person called and ordered a pizza to be delivered to an address on Nugget drive. When the pizza delivery person went to the door to deliver the pizza, two male suspects approached the delivery person. One of the suspects punched the delivery person in the face and demanded money from him. The suspects obtained money from the victim.

A grand theft purse snatch was reported on Solamint Road. In this incident a male approached a female who was walking on the sidewalk and pulled her purse from her shoulder. The victim chased the suspect down the street towards Soledad Canyon Road. The victim picked up a rock off the ground and threw it at the suspect, striking him in the back. The suspect dropped the victim’s purse and ran away towards Soledad Canyon Road.

A commercial burglary occurred at the “7-11” on Sierra Highway. A male suspect entered the store, filled a cup with coffee and then walked out of the store without paying for the coffee. The suspect was later arrested for commercial burglary and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Station for the incident.

A vehicle burglary occurred near the 17000 block of Blue Aspen Lane. A suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole a laptop and a pair of Oakley sunglasses from the vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.
