Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit
Zone 5-Valencia had fifteen Part-1 Crimes reported during the past week. The criminal incidents included vehicle burglaries, grand theft motorcycles, and shoplifting from local businesses.
A vehicle burglary occurred on the 23600 block of Wiley Canyon Road between the hours of 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm. The victim parked her vehicle at a church parking lot and left her purse on the passenger seat visible to the public. The suspect(s) gained entry by smashing the passenger vehicle with an unknown object. A second vehicle burglary occurred on the 23800 block of McBean Parkway during early morning hours of 6:00 pm and 6:30 am. It appeared to be ransacked and a replica type rifle was stolen from the trunk area of the vehicle.
There were two grand theft motorcycles that occurred at the 24100 block of Del Monte Drive between the hours of 8:30 am and 10:00 pm. Both motorcycles, a Harley Davidson “Fatboy and Roadstar” were parked in an underground parking structure of an apartment complex.
A theft from an unlocked vehicle occurred on the25700 block of Olivas Park Road between the hours of 5:00 pm and 6:30 am. The vehicle was parked in the drive way at the victim’s residence and was ransacked. Five hundred dollars was stolen from the glove compartment area. No suspect(s) have been identified at this time in any of these reports.
As always do not become a victim! Please do not leave valuables unattended in public areas or leave items visible in your vehicles. Take personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle or secure items in locked trunks. Remember to roll up all windows and lock doors before exiting your vehicles. If possible, park in well-lit areas.
If you see any suspicious activity or vehicles in your neighborhood, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121.
There were twelve arrests made this past week by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area. Arrests included driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, drunk in public, and numerous shoplifting from local businesses.
