Week of 11/03/13 through 11/11/2013
A look back at the crimes reported in the Newhall area last week.
Between Tuesday the 5th at 10:00 p.m., and Wednesday the 6th at 2:00 p.m., an attempted vehicle burglary occurred in the 24300 block of Peppermint Lane (ref 14172).
On Thursday the 7th, between 4:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 24800 block of Walnut Street. Entry was from a window. Laptops and cash were stolen (ref 15252).
Between Tuesday the 5th at 5:00 p.m., and Wednesday the 6th at 7:00 p.m., a 2004 blue “Yamaha” motorcycle was stolen from the Meadowridge Apartments, 23645 Newhall Avenue. The motorcycle has not been recovered yet (ref 15208).
Between 3/26/13 and 11/8/13, three batteries were stolen from the “Time Warner” cable box in the 24200 block of Valle Del Oro (ref 15273). If you ever see somebody tampering with the cable boxes you do not recognize as an actual cable repair person, please call the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station at (661)255-1121 so we can check them out.
On Friday the 8th, between 5:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., a Blue 1988 Ford “Ranger” pick-up was stolen from the Polynesian Mobile Home Park, 23450 Newhall Av. The vehicle has not been recovered (ref 15281).
On Saturday the 9th at 4:40 p.m., an assault with a deadly weapon occurred on a city bus. The bus left from the Metro Link station on its way to Wiley Canyon. The suspect is a male black, approximately 51 years old, 6 foot tall, and 220 pounds. The weapon was a box cutter. The suspect exited the bus near Newhall Avenue and 15th Street (ref 15295).
If you witnessed the crime occur on the bus, or if you believe you may be a witness to any other crime, please call the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station at (661)255-1121 and speak to a detective.
On Sunday the 10th at 3:27 a.m., a business was broke in to in the 23500 block of Lyons Avenue. A door was shattered and the suspect stole items from inside the business (ref 15421).
Between Friday the 8th at 5:00 p.m., and Monday the 11th at 7:40 a.m., an office in the 23200 block of Lyons Avenue was burglarized. There was no forced entry and a laptop was stolen (ref 15480).
On Monday the 11th, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 21100 block of Oakriver Lane. Entry was made from a shattered window (ref 15493).
Report suspicious behavior 24 hours a day, to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station at, (661)255-1121.
On Monday the 11th at 10:00 a.m., a woman’s purse was stolen from her vehicle in front of the “7-11”, 23406 Lyons Avenue, while she was inside the store (ref 15485).
