[LACo Public Library] – Lights! Camera! Survey? The County of Los Angeles Public Library wants your help in creating the ideal future library – with a game that enables you to participate as if you were a real Hollywood screenwriter.
The County Library is seeking input from its customers and the public about how the library serves them and what it could offer in the future. You can help make your dream library by participating in the interactive online game survey, Library 2020: The Movie. The first 200 participants will win free movie tickets and all who complete the survey will be put in a drawing for the popular iPad.
Here’s How It Works:
You ‘write’ your screenplay by clicking and dragging your favorite library services, grouped in broad categories like materials, services and technology, into the film strips on each page. You keep ‘editing’ your choices until you have selected the most important services for your future library.
Although your ‘film’ may not win an Oscar, it will give the County library valuable information about the services that you feel are most important. Participants can start playing the on-line game on October 3, 2012 at www.library2020themovie.org.
The survey is part of the County Library’s strategic planning process as the Library considers how to best serve the population of Los Angeles County into the future.
“As part of our Strategic Planning, the County has been talking with stakeholders. This interactive game is one way that everyone can participate. With this instrument we can better plan for the future and see how we can move forward to meet the evolving needs and interests of our customers,” stated County Librarian Margaret Donnellan Todd.
