Drew Wolitarsky

Canyon Cowboys junior wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky is participating in the Semper Fidelis All American Bowl in Phoenix as one of the top 100 juniors in the country.

The five-day event has drawn the top 300 high school football players from across the country from the class of 2012, 2013 and 2014.

According to 247sports.com, Wolitarsky was one of the top 10 performers during Monday’s combine for juniors at Chase Field.  “The 6-foot-2, 190-pound receiver is getting lots of early attention and should be one of the more highly recruited players (in the country) in the class of 2013,” the report states.

Wolitarsky has been a starter at Canyon since his freshman year, breaking the Cowboys’ all-time receiving mark this past season.  This year he hauled in 75 receptions for 1,628 yards and 19 touchdowns, all tops in the Foothill League.

The seniors are playing in Tuesday’s game at Chase Field, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
