If you ever want to see real thug-style politics, look no further than the Obama administration. From day one, Obama has told us lobbyists would not be welcomed in Washington, D.C., and that cronyism would not be tolerated.
But as I’ve said before, this White House has no real grasp of the English language with confusing language like: “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,” or “I will not sign healthcare legislation that will add one dime to our deficit,” or “I refuse … to let Detroit go bankrupt.”
Remember the election of 2012. It was a tight election. Things were not too solid for El Presidente. The IRS issue, Benghazi, and the economy not close to the 2-percent index needed to keep us at our previous misery level. Unemployment numbers were not good – but not that bad after being miraculously adjusted for the 38th month in a row.
Remember, coming into that election, we had a 9/11 anniversary attack where four Americans were killed. (With the official account stating that locals were mad about a movie made in America against Mohammed, and that sparked an event that only happened to be on 9/11.) Also remember, coming into that election, the IRS incident happened because of two rogue agents in Ohio. Blah, blah, blah.
After “early voting,” “late registration,” and “night of voting” registration, states reported the election outcome with many precincts having higher than 100 percent turnout. Yes, it’s true. Several states reporting the extraordinarily high voter turnout also reported that nearly 100 percent of those votes were for Obama. (Almost as miraculous as the real Immaculate Conception.)
As it goes, those on the left did not cry foul, saying only that the people had spoken. Those on the right said it was blatant voter fraud. And the reality is, over the past two years, they have been proving it was voter fraud – precinct by precinct. (That will be covered in a future piece.)
So with all of the “work” it took to get elected, I am sure the president needed to pay back a few of his workers.
Let’s start off with his latest appointment, the “Ebola czar” Ron Klain. Mr. Klain has 30 years in the medical arena, having managed many hospitals and emergency disaster readiness programs across the country. (Insert loud buzzer sound here.) Wrong. It’s what you might expect – and hope – to see on the resume of a person who’s responsible for implementing the processes and procedures by which Ebola can be tracked in this country and around the globe. Track how and how easily it’s moving. Implement the procedures to contain it or even prevent it from spreading. How about working with the CDC and State Department to make sure we slow it down or maybe even stop it from entering this country again? You would think so. But, hey, as usual, El Presidente knows better.
Klain is a political hack. He worked as chief of staff to Joe Biden at one time and also worked for Al Gore. (Maybe Ebola is the result of climate change?) He, as with most czars and appointees from this administration, has no real experience in the area to which he is assigned. Not to worry. Klain will be reporting to none other than Susan Rice.
In appointing Klain, Obama will effectively bypass another official, Dr. Nicole Lurie, who has served as Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) at the Department of Health and Human Services since July 2009. She obviously didn’t contribute enough.
Let’s jump to his failed pick for the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, Debo Adegbile. This was the first time the Democrat-controlled senate refused to push through one of his choices. Even they pushed back and said no way. And saying Adegbile is unqualified was an understatement.
Adegbile drew major opposition from national law enforcement organizations, as well as what can be only attributed to divine intervention from the almighty, a bipartisan group of senators, for his involvement with Mumia Abu-Jamal, who was convicted of killing Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981. Adegbile previously worked for and was active with the NAACP’s Legal Defense Fund. The NAACP worked hard to overturn Abu-Jamal’s death sentence.
Obama was appalled that unfair character attacks were levied against Adegbile and called the failed vote a “travesty.” He referred to Adegbile as “a good and qualified public servant.”
Well, Mr. Obama, even your own team members felt you were way off, again, on this one. He came out later to say: “Those who voted against his nomination denied the American people an outstanding public servant.” Does this mean he holds people who defend cold-blooded cop killers in high esteem? Just asking.
What about his ambassador nominations? It’s a well-known fact inside the Beltway that Obama hands these out like $5 Starbucks cards at a PTA raffle. If you’ve helped bundle money in any way for Obama, one of your rewards could easily be an ambassadorship – not to Iraq or Iran or Russia, but a more desirable place like Norway.
Remember George Tsunis, the man the president said would represent us well? Tsunis couldn’t make it out of the hearing room. When is the president going to fire his vetting team? Never mind. He doesn’t have one. It’s him.
Tsunis proved he doesn’t know when to quit. He knew almost no facts about Norway, its form of government, population, land mass or economy. He knew nothing about how it’s governed or its politics. Later we found out he never evened Googled the place to get basic information, nor had he ever been there. He literally knew nothing about its people. Nothing. His only qualification was that he was a money bundler for Obama.
A side note: A few Norwegian legislators nominated Edward Snowden for a Nobel Peace Prize – a completely unqualified person – as a show of distain for this president. You have to be pretty bad to get the Norwegians mad.
As I’ve said, this president couldn’t find the truth if you put it in a bag, marked it “Truth,” put both of his hands on it, and told him what was in it. He still wouldn’t use it.
We have an election coming up, and once again the president is doing damage control on the smoking-gun issues to save his party’s butt. The Bergdahl report is done but won’t be released until after the election. Obamacare premiums, the new ones, the real ones, won’t be published until after the election. His choice for attorney general, interestingly enough, though he has one in mind, won’t be released until after the election.
Can we please explain to this president the real meaning of “transparency?” Maybe someone could send him some real “I Love America” pills?
He won’t protect us against Ebola. He appoints unqualified people to positions of authority and importance. He won’t give the American people real information so they can make completely informed decisions about whom they elect. And he keeps slapping our overseas allies in the face by trying to push political cronies on them as ambassadors.
We have an election coming up. I have some “real hope” for “real change.” Let’s make America strong again and elect people who will act in the best interest of our country and actually tell us the truth for a change.
