Castaic Middle School KLAWS clubs in partnership with West Ranch High School and DFYinSCV will carol to the adoptable pets at the Castaic Animal Care & Control Center on Thursday, December 19, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The event is designed to help create awareness of their availability for adoption and, of course, to show these ready-to-adopt animals some love.
The KLAWS clubs (KLAWS stands for “Kids Loving Animals within Shelters”) will be joined by the talented Castaic Middle School and West Ranch High School choirs.
All clubs will be collecting donations (blankets, food, treats, and toys) for the shelter and bringing these generous donations to the event.
Event organizers invite the community to join the kids as they celebrate the holiday season with the staff and pets of the Castaic Animal Shelter.
They believe the KLAWS program is so successful because it connects students to the community and to one another and teaches them responsibility, commitment, compassion, kindness, patience, and many other important life lessons and skills.
Since its inception, the KLAWS club has donated hundreds of dollars in blankets, collars, leashes, toys, food, and treats.
In October, the KLAWS Club kicked off the school year with a “Barking for Books” Halloween event and looks forward to many more fun community activities in the coming year.
The Castaic Animal Shelter is located at 31044 Charlie Canyon Road, Castaic 91384.
