Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies and detectives teamed to locate and arrest a Santa Clarita man suspected of domestic violence and animal cruelty on Wednesday, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“Sitting in the booking cage (pictured above) is a 22-year-old Santa Clarita man whom patrol deputies sought and captured Wednesday afternoon after they heard detectives were trying to locate him.
“The suspect, in addition to committing alleged acts of domestic violence, reportedly abused two of the victim’s dogs in past incidents.
“One of the dogs succumbed to his injuries after suspected suffocation. The other dog is recovering from a traumatic brain injury and a broken pelvis.
“It is through teamwork that the suspect was brought into custody.
“Hurting others, humans or animals, is never okay. If you are in a domestic violence relationship and you need help, you can call the Domestic Violence Program at the Child and Family Center at their 24-hour hotline, 661-259-HELP (4357), or their non-emergency line at 661-259-8175 for confidential information and support.
“If you suspect animal cruelty, contact LA County Animal Care & Control via its website at http://animalcare.lacounty.gov/protecting-animals/.”
