Deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station spotted an illegal encampment in a Canyon Country wash Thursday morning and arrested a man on drug charges and an outstanding warrant, according to a post Sunday on the station’s social media.
Here’s the story:
Deputies were checking on public safety in a Canyon Country wash near Langside Avenue and Soledad Canyon Road on Thursday morning when they noticed an illegal encampment — a tent was set up in the wash.
Deputies made contact with an adult male near the tent who showed signs of being under the influence.
After checking his name in the system, deputies found he had a $35,000 warrant in the system. He was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Deputies arrested suspect Eleno Salgado, 23, on the warrant, with added charges of possession of a controlled substance, and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Salgado was transported and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
