A Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputy was involved in a traffic collision while responding to a domestic violence call Thursday about 2:47 p.m.
The deputy was driving south on Wiley Canyon Road and turning westbound onto Orchard Village Road when the front left side of his vehicle was struck, said Lt. Bill Weiss of the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
“I don’t know the extent of damage to the vehicles,” Weiss said. “The deputy and one or two occupants in the other vehicle were transported to a hospital, at least for precautionary reasons.”
The extent of the injuries seem minor to moderate, and the cause of the accident is still being investigated, Weiss said.
The incident marks the third deputy-involved collision in as many months.
