Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is offering two free heart health lectures next week as part of American Heart Month. American Heart Month is a federally designated event every February.
On Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m., Henry Mayo Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Kim Brown will speak on heart health nutrition. Her talk will cover foods you should reduce or avoid, fat and sodium guidelines, how to read food labels and more. Appetizers will be served.
On Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 5:30 p.m., Henry Mayo physician Shervin Sadrpour, MD will give a talk on electrophysiology. Electrophysiology studies are tests that help doctors understand the nature of abnormal heart rhythms. These results of these tests can help a patient and her doctor decide what potential treatments to pursue.
Both of these free lectures will be held in the Henry Mayo Center, located at 23803 McBean Parkway.
