The California Department of Transportation alerts that drivers will face construction and nightly closures from Friday, Oct. 30 to Monday, Nov. 9, 2015.
Construction Activities
Oct. 29 – Nov. 6:
SR 134 to Magnolia Boulevard
Alameda Avenue: Construction of concrete bridge barriers
Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street
Buena Vista Bridge (Winona Bridge): Installation of falsework on southbound side
Buena Vista Railroad Bridge: Shoring work
Burbank Western Channel: Backfilling trench operations
Empire Avenue: Jacking operation to finalize falsework (night work); drilling piles (cast in drilled holes) for the underpass
Victory Place Bridge: Pouring column
Railroad Retaining Wall: Installation of precast wall panels between Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Way
Southbound I-5 Retaining Walls: Grading and drainage installation for the retaining wall between Buena Vista Street and Empire Avenue; backfilling retaining wall between Empire Avenue and Burbank Boulevard
Demolition: Demo work near the southbound I-5 Buena Vista Street on and off-ramps.
Utility Work: Underground utility work at San Fernando Boulevard east of Grismer Avenue
Oct. 30:
Southbound I-5 Burbank Boulevard off-ramp will be closed October 30 from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. to allow crews to safely move equipment.
Closures and Detours
Oct. 29 – Nov. 6:
SR 134 to Magnolia Boulevard
Intermittent closures of the northbound I-5 Alameda Avenue on and off-ramps from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The detour for the one-mile segment of the Los Angeles River Bike Path has been temporarily lifted.
Magnolia Boulevard to Buena Vista Street
Up to two lanes of southbound I-5 between Buena Vista Street and Empire Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Southbound I-5 Burbank Boulevard off-ramp will be closed Oct. 30 from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Southbound I-5 Buena Vista off-ramp will be closed Oct. 29 from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Upcoming Closures
Nov. 2 to Nov. 9:
I-210 Foothill Freeway
Lanes will be closed on the eastbound and westbound I-210 from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Nov. 18:
SR 134 to Magnolia Boulevard
The northbound I-5 Alameda Avenue on-ramp will be closed for 55 hours beginning, tentatively, Nov. 18.
