Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies are seeking the public’s help to identify a suspect who fired a gun during an attempted home-invasion robbery Tuesday night in Canyon Country.
The incident was reported at about 10:30 p.m. in the 19400 block of Green Mountain Drive, off of Golden Valley Road near the 14 Freeway.
Two elderly residents were awakened by the sound of breaking glass inside their home. One went to investigate and saw a man standing inside. Armed with a handgun, the suspect pointed it at the resident shot one round at him. He missed.
The suspect then fled from the scene. Neither resident was injured.
Although it has been determined the suspect is a male, no further description of the suspect is available at this time, authorities said.
Detectives assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station have been investigating the incident since its occurrence, according to a news release. Detectives are asking anyone with any information to contact Detective Painter at 661-799-5141.

How can you ask for public assistance while the only information you’ve given us is that the suspect may or may not be male?
Maybe someone saw something in the neighborhood…a person or car or something else. Or someone reading this knows the suspect. Give it a chance
Actually, when you read the posting on the link, it says that the suspect is a male. And asking because people talk. I’m sure the suspect has family or friends. They always brag to someone. Also, in case anyone heard or saw anything
He’ll show up at the next DUI checkpoint, he’ll be the guy that forgot to get his interlock device installed before he goes out on the town.
