The Golden State Athletic Conference has announced the 2014 Men’s Soccer All-Conference Team presented by Under Armour. This year’s team consists of 22 players and is led by GSAC Player of the Year, Humphrey Mahowa of The Master’s College.
Of the 22 all-conference athletes, four Mustangs represent The Master’s College: Brett Croft, Vinicius Barauna, Zach Klindworth, and Humphrey Mahowa. Notably, Concordia University was the only other school to land four athletes on this year’s roster.
Croft, who in his fourth year at midfield appeared in 17 of TMC’s 18 regular-season matches, posted 38 shots, 18 shots on goal, five goals, and five assists. Croft repeats the All-GSAC honor as the Hesperia, California, native earned the same kudos last fall.
Barauna, another senior midfielder, appeared as a starter for the Mustangs for the second year in a row, tallying six shots, four points, three shots on goal, two assists, and one goal during regular-season play. Barauna’s elusive ball skills and wonderful composure consistently marked him as a threat throughout the regular season.
Klindworth, who also repeats the All-GSAC honors, led the conference in assists (9) and assists per game, and was the Mustangs’ third-highest goal scorer as the sophomore posted three goals in the regular season.
Finally, freshman forward Humphrey Mahowa recorded 23 points on 10 goals and 3 assists for the Mustangs, tying him for the GSAC lead in goals and points scored.
