Thirteen months after his very simple and childlike idea to take two soccer balls to Qatar during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Ismachiah Oduwole, a Santa Clarita ninth-grader, began to show the world a fresh and fun approach to the climate and sustainability awareness campaign about our planet.
While in Qatar, Oduwole, 13, was able to get people from more than 28 countries – including presidents and prime ministers of three countries, the president of ***COP 28, the UAE Climate Minister and the CEO’s of some of the world’s biggest corporations in the world – to sign the climate ball and commit to doing more on sustainability.
And sign they did.
***COP 28 refers to the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from Nov. 30 – Dec. 12, 2023.
This is the first look of that story, in a 10 minute short documentary film, which was shot in locations such as London, New York, Dubai, Seychelles, Paris, Guyana and Los Angeles.
It is becoming an inspiration to youths and indeed a global awareness initiative, for measurable change in the fight against Climate Change.
The short film was, which was released Feb. 11, is available free [here], as an education initiative.
