[KHTS] – A Granada Hills man pleaded no contest Tuesday to a DUI crash that killed his girlfriend, Jacquelyn Cork, at Rowher Flats on Jan. 10.

Ian Pike, 26, is accused of being under the influence and behind the wheel of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee when it tumbled down a steep embankment and killing Cork, 25, of Redlands, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Pike pleaded no contest Tuesday to one count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence. He faces a sentence of three years formal probation, 32 days in county jail, 50 days community labor and alcohol rehabilitation classes.

Pike is due back in court for sentencing Sept. 21.

Previous Story: Man Pleads Not Guilty To Fatal Rowher Flats Crash Charge

In February, Pike pleaded not guilty to charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and faced a maximum of 10 years in prison, according to the county’s District Attorney’s Office.

Pike, who was not in the vehicle as it tumbled down a steep embankment, was hospitalized in the crash that killed Cork, who was the only passenger in the vehicle, according to CHP officials.

Pike was arrested in January and paid a $100,000 bond, said Ricardo Santiago, a spokesman for the District Attorney’s Office.

Pike’s vehicle was found 1,500 feet below at the bottom of the ravine.

Five days after the crash, officials utilized the help of Timberline Helicopters to assist with the recovery of the vehicle.

The crew had to use a K-Max helicopter and an external load-sling to recover the vehicle from the ravine.

California Highway Patrol officers worked with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to investigate the collision.

May everyone involved find peace someday. This is so sad.

  12. Blake Frye says:

sure he drove drunk like an idiot, but keep in mind this guy has to live with the fact that he killed his girlfriend for the rest of his life. Let alone the fact that so many people know about it now thanks to SCVTV… I think that may be enough of a punishment. Why judge how remorseful he is off a mere snapshot? Why assume he’s a rich kid? Why think he “lured” his own girlfriend into his car with the intention of killing her….

  13. Wow! Probation for drunkenly killing another human being? Nice.

  14. Mary Cain says:

Ugh this guy is a scum bag

  15. So glad the prosecution/judge took a few minutes to do a simple Google search of the guys social media to see if he learned his lesson or even takes responsibility! Disgusting! http://www.dwihitparade.com/2015/01/21/california-ian-pike-fishes-sympathy-faces-dui-homicide-charges-killing-jacqueline-cork/
