Valencia-based U.S. HealthWorks, the nation’s second-largest operator of occupational healthcare centers, announced Thursday it has acquired Priority Medical Care, operator of two medical clinics in New Jersey.
The acquisition brings U.S. HealthWorks’ total to 173 medical clinics in 15 states, including seven in New Jersey. The locations in Bridgewater and Somerset, N.J., offer occupational healthcare services, including diagnosis and treatment for injury and illness, preventive services, pre-employment and post-offer exams and screening, and return-to-work rehabilitative care, the company said. The Bridgewater center also offers urgent care.
Terms of the deal were kept under wraps.
“The expanded network of clinics in New Jersey will allow us to better serve all our clients and patients in the region,” Vice President Gregory Marotta said in a statement.
Dr. Ian Brodrick of Priority Medical Care said U.S. HealthWorks “has a highly regarded national network of physicians, health clinics and medical resources, and possesses a strong commitment to quality at all its centers. We’re excited to join a company that will bring additional resources to support our services to patients.”
Nationwide, U.S. HealthWorks employs 2,700 people including 600 medical practitioners and serves more than 11,000 patients per day.
