You’ll be calling “mummy” after a visit to the first annual Haunted Mansion hosted by the City of Santa Clarita Community Center Teen Group. Community members, ages 8 and up, are invited to visit the Haunted Mansion from 7:30 p.m. to 10: 30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Newhall Community Center.
Four classrooms at the Newhall Community Center will be transformed into the hair-raising backdrop that is the Haunted Mansion. Guests will be challenged with unraveling the mystery behind the family who once inhabited the mansion. The butler will lead visitors through terrifying rooms and end in the family’s spooky graveyard. Only the most investigative guests will be able to make sense of the clues found along the tour, and discover who was responsible for this terrible family tragedy.
Admission for the Haunted Mansion is $3, which will be used to sponsor future programs for the Community Center Teen Group. For the past few months, over thirty teens collaborated together to prepare scripts, props, makeup, and actors to present a creative take on a traditional haunted house attraction. The Haunted Mansion is the highlight of the Community Center’s Teen Program, which offers teens the opportunity to participate in fundraising, fieldtrips, community service projects and events.
Entrance to the mansion will be on the north side of the building, closest to the playground. The Santa Clarita Community Center is located at 22421 Market Street.
