The College of the Canyons Job & Career Center will host its fall semester Job & Career Fair providing job seekers with employment opportunities in various industries and career fields.
The fair is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the West P.E. gymnasium, located on the college’s Valencia campus.
The event will feature a wide range of employers seeking to fill entry, middle and upper level job opportunities.
For companies that are unable to attend this year’s event, an on-site “virtual job fair” hosted by KHTS AM 1220, will allow job seekers to apply for additional job opportunities.
A free workshop on how to utilize LinkedIn will also be available to job fair attendees.
In addition to the more than 90 anticipated employers, a special “employer showcase” will feature what opportunities the City of Santa Clarita, United States Postal Service, and America’s Job Centers have to offer.
“Bring a pen, a current resume, and be ready to answer questions about what you can offer an employer,” said Gina Bogna, assistant dean of internships and job development at the college. “Research the employers who will be in attendance and learn what they are looking for. Knowing this information will help the job seeker engage with the recruiter and hopefully land a formal interview.”
As always, the COC Job & Career Fair is free to students and community members. Parking will be free in all student lots until 2 p.m. on the day of the event.
