The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) at College of the Canyons is inviting families to a play date 65 million years in the making, as the theatrical performance Dinosaur Zoo Live takes over the PAC main stage for a pair of afternoon shows on Sunday, Oct. 23.
Audiences will be able to observe, meet and interact with an eye-popping collection of amazingly life-like dinosaurs and other creatures presented in an atmosphere that will be sure to stimulate the imagination.
Brought to life by a team of skilled performers and puppeteers, and designed with the help of professional paleontologists, Dinosaur Zoo Live puppets are so extraordinarily realistic you may feel the urge to run and hide.
However, you won’t want to miss a minute of this fun, unique, entertaining and educational live show created by Earth Visual & Physical of Sydney, Australia.
Described as helping to “bridge the gap between cultural and theatrical institutions by bringing physical theatre and puppetry to Museum environments,” Dinosaur Zoo Live utilizes giant puppetry, stilt walkers, inflatable environments, flying creatures and more to teach children about prehistoric life in an interesting and engaging way.
Parents in the audience might even find themselves learning something new!
During the show, performers will utilize puppets ranging from baby dinosaurs to full-size carnivorous creatures — like the famed Tyrannosaurus Rex!
As puppeteers bring the creatures to life, the show’s narrator explains their backgrounds, with audience members invited on stage for a chance to get up close and personal with the dino-wildlife.
Having toured the world from Sydney to London to Tokyo, and now Santa Clarita, the creatures featured in Dinosaur Zoo Live are unmistakably alive!
Come experience the thrill of a lifetime with this fun, imaginative, educational and ultra unique performance that is sure to delight the entire family.
Dinosaur Zoo Live is recommended for children ages 3 years and up. Tickets are priced from $15 to $25. Performances will take place at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, on the PAC main stage.
