On Oct. 25, businesses in Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley and surrounding areas will have the unique opportunity to meet resource partners at the Northern Los Angeles County Defense Supply Chain Business Resource Event. All businesses interested or already participating in government contracting are welcome. Defense contractors or subcontractors are especially encouraged to attend.
Santa Clarita Economic Development Corporation (SCVEDC) and Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (GAVEA), in partnership with the California Community Colleges Doing What Matters for Jobs and the Economy Business and Entrepreneurship Sector, and the San Diego East County Economic Development Council are hosting this event in an effort to connect businesses to government procurement opportunities as part of the California Advanced Supply Chain Analysis and Diversification Effort (CASCADE) initiative.
Businesses will have the opportunity to attend workshops that will share resources to be more competitive and become more resilient in cybersecurity.
“The State of California is the fifth largest economy in the world and we’re here to ensure our businesses are resilient and competitive in the face of uncertain global trade practices.” GAVEA President, Kimberly Maevers said.
Businesses can register for this North LA County Defense Supply Chain Business Resource Event at no cost. The event will consist of several workshops, networking with presenters and attendees, and keynote presentations by Lockheed Martin and Congressman Steve Knight.
The North LA Event will be held on Oct. 25, at College of the Canyons in the Dr. Dianne Van Hook University Center from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is free. Lunch and light breakfast will be provided.
