The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s annual “Fun in the Sun” Chili Cook Off benefitting the Special Olympics is set for the Jack Bones Equestrian Center in Castaic on Saturday, October 14 from 11 a. to 4 p.m.
This year’s Chili Cook Off will feature more than 25 chili competitors, as well as a Kid’s Zone, food and drink vendors, live music, games, retail vendors, a classic car show, military displays and LASD Department displays.
Cookoff attendees purchase a “Chili Card,” which costs $10 to taste all of the chilis and $5 to taste six of the chilis, and beverage tickets for $1 each.
In addition to chili, hamburgers, hot dogs, soft drinks and adult beverages will also be available for purchase.
All proceeds from this year’s Chili Cook Off benefit the Special Olympics Southern California, Santa Clarita and Tri-Valley Regions.

Sponsors include the Law Enforcement Torch Run, Center BMW, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, the county of Los Angeles and KHTS-AM 1220.
Sponsorships are still available. Seven different levels start at $50 and go up to $2,500.
