[News Release] – Are you a high school student interested in theatre, or entertainment production, or live events? Are you looking for an engaging and educational experience in the direction of your career goals? The Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival is again conducting the Summer Apprentice Program.
The program creates profession mentoring opportunities for students that are interested in performing arts, theatre, live events, production, producing or technical theatre. Open to all local high school students and tuition free, the Summer Apprentice Company will develop the preshow entertainment for the Shakespeare in the Park performances, participate in select master classes, and develop and rehearse their own production to be performed at the end of the summer.
“Many of the students that work with us over the summer continue their education in the arts, entertainment, performance or production,” says David Stears, the Executive Director for SCSF. “They count their experiences with our Apprentice Company as significant to their education. It is their own version of a summer stock experience.”
The program is open to all high school students in the Santa Clarita Valley. High school students or parents interested in the High School Summer program are asked to send an email to apprentice@scshakespearefest and “like” the facebook page at facebook.com/ SCSFApprenticeCompany.
