The Northridge Academy Pumas traveled to Canyon High School for a non-conference baseball game Saturday, and got walloped by the Cowboys 19-2.
Northridge jumped out to an early 2-0 in the first inning but Canyon came roaring back in the bottom of the first and scored 10 runs before beating the visiting Pumas 19-2 in a game called after 4 1/2 innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
The Northridge Academy Pumas traveled to Canyon High School Saturday, March 31, 2018 for a non-conference baseball game which was won by Canyon High School 19-2 and stopped after 4 1/2 innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Canyon senior Mason West #16 (pictured above) earned the victory in his first start of the season. West pitched three innings, giving up two runs on one hit while striking out seven and walking only one batter.
Canyon improved to 6-7 on the year.
Canyon will travel to Aquinas High School and play Rialto on Wednesday in the Beaumont Spring Classis tournament.
