[KHTS] – Residents in the Plum Canyon area of Saugus are reporting that someone is turning off their circuit breakers.
One incident occurred on Oct. 4 after 1 a.m. A resident who lives on Moriah Lane, who requested to remain anonymous, said she “woke up in the middle of the night and noticed the power was off.”
“I thought, ‘Wow that’s got to be a crazy storm,’” she said. “Everything was off except for the microwave.”
The resident said her husband found all of their breakers in the fuse box switched off.
The resident did put a lock on the fuse box and did not contact the Sheriff’s Station.
Another incident occurred early Oct. 6 around 12:55 a.m.
“It was really scary, honestly,” said Tammy Duvo Larinto, who also lives in the Plum Canyon area on Curtis Alan Place. “(My family was) still up watching movies. The movie ended and we started to wind things down. We were walking upstairs and all of a sudden, total blackout.”
Larinto saw that her neighbors had power and thought someone had targeted their home.
“My daughter said, ‘Mom, I just saw a truck drive by to leave neighborhood,’ Larinto said. “My son and my husband walked outside and to the side of the house. Our fuse box was open and every single power switch was turned off.”
Larinto called the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and deputies took an incident report. The Larinto’s home has been set up with video camera surveillance.
“It looked like a young kid, it looked like Toyota Tundra four-door. They just stopped dead in front of our house. They shut their lights off and then he came and shut the power off,” Larinto said. “We went and put (a) lock on the fuse box. I feel like we were targeted.”
Larinto doesn’t think the people who were involved in the incident were anyone who her family might know.
“I really don’t think it was any of my kid’s friends,” she said. “I can’t imagine that it would be someone that my kids know. I really don’t know.”
Lt. Brenda Cambra with the SCV Sheriff’s Station Detective Bureau said residents can call the station if this type of incident happens to them and they don’t feel safe.
“It’s about being safe,” Cambra said. “If you don’t feel safe going to to check your fuse box, call the Sheriff’s Station. SoCal Edison is also able to be called to see if power is out everywhere.
“If this happens to you, use a flashlight when you go outside and be aware of your surroundings, you might want to lock your gate so other people can’t get to the box or you can lock up your fuse box.”

I have a few dogs that like to meet them
They do that to find out if you have a backup system for your security unit then they come back and rob you. Happen at one of rental properties. FYI.
