[KHTS]- California Highway Patrol officers were led on an early morning car chase Thursday from West Los Angeles to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, officials said.
Michael Brown, 47, was arrested on suspicion of a felony by evading arrest and felony driving under the influence, said Officer John Lutz of the Newhall CHP station.
CHP West L.A. officers began pursuit of a silver Mercedes Benz weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed around 2:17 a.m., Lutz said. Los Angeles Police Department officers followed Brown in a helicopter.
The chase moved into the San Fernando Valley area around 2:30 a.m., when CHP West Valley took over the pursuit, Lutz said. CHP Newhall officers assumed responsibility when the suspect came to the northbound Interstate 5-405 connector.
“The subject proceeded at a speed above 105 mph on the I-405,” Lutz said. “He continued northbound onto the SR-14 and through various streets in the city of Santa Clarita.”
CHP officers deployed a spike strip on Magic Mountain Parkway, west of Town Center Drive in Valencia, around 3 a.m., he said. The suspect drove over the spike strip but continued to the SCV Sheriff’s Station parking lot where he parked in a parking space and was arrested.
Brown is being held on $200,000 bail at the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.

Convenient!
Why does the top of his head, his left check, and his forehead look like he was slammed to the ground and a knee put on his face?
If someone drives to jail, gives himself up, should you still rough him up?
Shame on the Sheriff’s who thought they should do this. It showed in the picture in the SIGNAL
Huh? Nobody said he gave himself up. He parked his car after his tires were blown out.
