The Rye Fire has burned 7,000 acres and stands at five percent containment as of 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Firefighter Specialist Randall Wright of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Wright said 775 firefighters continued to battle the blaze, Wright said.
“The fire has burned 7,000 acres along Highway 126 and Interstate 5,” said Pono Barnes, L.A. County Fire Department public information officer. “We have no road closures and no mandatory evacuations as of this moment.”
No firefighters have been injured, Barnes said.
Residents of the Valencia Travel Village were allowed to return to their homes Wednesday morning, according to an LASD news release.
No livestock will be allowed back in the area until at least 24 hours after the population of residents.
“We urge the public to stay vigilant as we do have a significant wind event developing this evening and continuing through Friday,” he said.
“The wind died down a little bit last night and this morning, but it’s expected to pick up this afternoon,” Barnes said.
“So we did have a slight break in the weather that gave us favorable conditions for fire suppression,” he said. “But with the winds in the forecast, that could change very rapidly. That’s why we’re telling the public to keep themselves informed and updated.”
Barnes said residents can follow @LACOFDPIO (on Twitter) for the most current L.A. County Fire updates about the Rye Fire.

Where exactly is the fire now? Is it headed towards Simi Valley?
Wow, 7,000 acres in 24 hrs! Used to be with old weather patterns, that much might burn in a week.
While it is sad with what lead to this picture being taken. That being said, it is an INCREDIBLE picture!! (Y) (y) (y)
That plane is Not one of the rides at M.M.
Not wildfires. Man-made. Trees are fine. (Look at the video in the first link below.) Houses are completely incinerated by Rothschild directed-energy weapons. #ThomasFire

Rothschild directed-energy weapons in California. NOT WILDFIRES!!! . . . #rothschildDEWs
“Santa Rosa, CA fires show molten aluminum running down the sidewalk, while highly flammable pine trees still have green needles on them. Cars melted into the street with green vineyards just a few feet away. Granite counter tops, porcelain toilets, stone & brick fireplaces – all turned to dust. Auto glass is vaporized (2600F melting point) Wildfires don’t do this . . . but Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs) do.” #rothschildDEWs https://www.facebook.com/groups/1718300248398617/permalink/2043393285889310/
