The Sand Fire is currently at 38,346 acres with 65 percent containment.
Resources include 2,755 total personnel, 214 engines, 63 hand crews, 11 water tenders, 20 helicopters, and 35 dozers.
US Forest Service, Los Angeles County Fire, and Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office are in unified command.
Recreating in fire-affected areas can be dangerous. Downed power poles and lines, rolling rocks and debris, and firefighting equipment and machinery all present hazards on roads and trails. Please be diligent and alert while you are biking, hiking, driving, or recreating in areas with ongoing fire-suppression activity. Forest Service Closure order 01-16-05 is now in effect.
Full Metrolink Antelope Valley Line Service to Resume Thursday
Metrolink will operate full service along the Antelope Valley Line starting Thursday morning. Speed restrictions between the Vincent Grade/Acton and Via Princessa stations may cause early morning trains from Lancaster to be delayed by up to 15 minutes.
The first train Thursday morning, Antelope Valley Line train 200, will depart Lancaster at 3:58 a.m. All southbound trains will depart Lancaster at their scheduled times, including limited-stop train 282, which originates from Palmdale.
The determination to operate trains along the entire Antelope Valley Line was made with direction from officials battling the Sand Fire. If conditions change and rail service is once again stopped north of Via Princessa, Metrolink will have buses available to provide alternative service.

Sand Fire Unified Command—Southern California Interagency Incident Management Team 3, Los Angeles County Fire, and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department—would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to the Golden Valley High School. By allowing the incident command post to be established on school property, the high school has played an instrumental role in the Sand Fire firefighting efforts. Thank you for graciously hosting and accommodating the firefighters.
Drone activity has occurred over the fire in the Pacoima Reservoir Area. Sheriff’s deputies are actively attempting to locate and stop this intrusion. When drones interfere with firefighting efforts, a wildfire has the potential to grow larger and cause more damage. On the Sand Fire, an FAA Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in effect and any private aircraft or drone that violates the TFR could face serious criminal charges. Fire behavior was moderate and fire intensity slowed down today because of less wind. The fire is burning in the 209 Station Fire burn scar. |

Continue structure protection for affected residences. Continue to identify opportunities for successful direct-line construction and install hose around the fire. Continue indirect-line and contingency-line construction. |

On the east side, the fire is hung up in a deep drainage. If winds align with the drainage, the fire could potentially spread into heavy fuels to the east. The north side of the fire is predicted to have minimal to no spread. The west side
of the fire still has some potential to affect the Sand Canyon and Placerita Canyon area. The south side of the fire continues to hold. |

. Im in need of some lawyer advice or help or something. I was living inside the KOA when were evacuated because of the fire. My family and i have been in a hotel since. When we were able to finally go back into park to see if our home was still standing (which thank God it was) the heartless owner of the park had put locks onto our electrical boxes. So even if we wanted to come back we couldnt plug our trailers back in. Thinking he was singling us out because him and my husband got into an argument when were in being evacuated. But now after talking to a few other monthly friends of mine from the park, apparently he has locked out most of the monthly residents. He unplugged our trailers which means everything food wise in my house is ruined. One of my friends husband was told he’s not allowed back but his wife is. I don’t know what to do. I don’t understand how somebody could he so heartless at this time when all we need is a little compassion. I know this can’t legal but I can’t afford to get a lawyer or any thing but I need to know how I can fight this guy. If anybody has any advise please let me know. my family and I can’t afford to staying in this hotel but I can’t fo back to my home because of no power. Now my husband tried to go home and they are refusing to let him in calling the cops on him
