More than 600 people are expected Saturday to participate in the Santa Clarita Walk to End Alzheimer’s, a fundraiser that offers participants an opportunity to take a healthy stroll, experience outstanding live entertainment, win a wide variety of prizes, honor loved ones who have been affected by Alzheimer’s and raise funds to battle the debilitating disease.
And event organizers have this message to those who are thinking about jumping in at the last minute: The more the merrier.
“We’re thrilled with the response we have had leading up to the event,” said SCV Walk Chairman Rick Ferrante, founder and president of Home Care Services Santa Clarita, a major supporter of the event. “We have nearly 600 walkers signed up already, and we are welcoming those who would like to show up at the event and sign up on the spot, too.”
The Santa Clarita Walk to End Alzheimer’s, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, is scheduled 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 7, at Bridgeport Park, 23520 Bridgeport Lane in Valencia. Signup information and more details can be found at www.act.alz.org/scv and on the event’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1300835523327310/.
