Ilher: “Go LA”

Six Santa Clarita Artists Association members were accepted in the impressive La Galeria Gitana exhibit, The Mother Road: Route 66. Opening night with artists is Saturday, Feb. 25, 6 to 9:30 pm. Art enthusiasts and connoisseurs are welcomed to celebrate with wine and refreshments.

O’Hearn

This exhibit contains artwork that gives the viewer a glimpse from the past of, what we have seen, and the present, what we see along this famous highway. The show runs from Feb. 25 through April 21, 2017.

· Jeanne Iler – “My painting is titled Go LA. The driver is on his way to Los Angeles and meets a rainstorm. He has thoughts of what LA is all about.”

Kaczmar: “Old Town”

· Olga Kaczmar – “My watercolor Old Town features an aged store row with a bathtub outside the jail; a dolly and woodpile in front of the saloon; and hitching rail, water barrel, rusty tub and wheelbarrow outside the mercantile.”

Rogers: “Route 66 Choppers”

· Patty O’Hearn – “I couldn’t resist that vista while standing on the ridge taking the long way out to Lake Hughes.”

· Dody Rogers – “Route 66 Choppers” is the title of my oil painting. I have a collection of three miniature paintings of Route 66 in this show. Why does it take as long to paint a 5 x 7 as it does to paint a 16 x 20? The end of the day in the desert has such beautiful skies.”

· Norma Warden – “I love finding ‘pieces of history’ to photograph.”

Warden: “Three Silos”

· Cecily Willis – “My painting, Route 66 Museum, Clinton, Oklahoma, was painted from a photo I took last summer while my husband and I were on a Route 66 road trip that started at the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. We had a wonderful time exploring the diverse and colorful places that make up these United States, especially the ones off of the old Route 66.”
